To create "Loving the Man Kind" the stock heart was combined with type in Illustrator and imported layer-by-layer into Photoshop. A desktop scan of an old leather covered book was digitally dyed green then blind and ink embossed using rather complex Photoshop techniques. Finally, the illustration was adorned with rose petals, either stock or from my yard (I can't remember which).
